Betty Jamison Maupin passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Beloved wife, mother and sister, Betty was born on March 12, 1933 on the family farm in Horton to the late John and Nanallee Black. She was retired from Kentucky Utilities and loved spending time with her family and friends and fishing with her husband. She will be dearly missed.
Betty is survived by her husband, Bernard Maupin; daughter, Becky (Phil) Wilder; daughter-in-law, Daveena Sexton; step-daughters, Julie Welch and Carol Maupin; step-sons, Darryl (Dinah) Maupin and Marty Maupin; seven grandchildren, Jessie Wilder, Zach (Jennifer) Wilder, Hannah (Russell Waddell) Jamison, Blake (Abby) Leach, Nicklaus and Natalie Maupin and Lauren Maupin and four great- grandchildren, Jamie, Leo, Grayson and Juliette. Betty was part of a big loving family of ten children and is survived by two brothers, Conner Black and Bobby Charles Black and two sisters, JoAnne Westerfield and Paula Boyd.
Aside from her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Monroe Jamison, Sr., her son, Monroe Jamison, Jr. and her granddaughter, Rye Indigo Wilder.
A special thanks to her loving nephew Greg Westerfield for his devotion and care for his Aunt Betty during her last month.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mrs. Maupin’s family from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday and 9 A.M. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Thank you very much to The Heartford House in Owensboro, nurses, staff and Dr. McCoy who showed such kindness to Betty during her illness.
