Elvera Mae (Autry) Simpson

Elvera Autry Simpson, 72, of Horse Branch, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born August 8, 1945 in Hartford, Kentucky to the late James Autry and Gracie Maze Pharris. Mrs. Simpson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Horse Branch and was happiest when spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Daniel Gilstrap; four brothers, Jerry Pharris, Benny Pharris, Donnie Pharris and Ronnie Pharris; one sister, Rita Davidson.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Kenneth Simpson of Horse Branch; five children, Loura (John) House of Hartford, Selena Gilstrap of Hartford, Wade Simpson of Hartford, Cindy (Mike) Daugherty of Utica and David (Tina) Simpson of Horse Branch; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, John, Lila, Edith, Rose, Karen, Ann, Barbara and Linda.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 15, 2017, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Rosine Cemetery in Rosine, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Simpson’s family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
