Mal J. Decker, 79 of Beaver Dam, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born June 23, 1937 in the Highview Community of Ohio County to the late Cletis and Mary Jane Willoughby Decker. Mal was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Craddock Furniture and Karges Furniture in Evansville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Maliana Mavis Johnson and his sister, Alice Geary.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katie Strickland Decker of Beaver Dam, four children, Darrel J. (Georgia) Decker of Richland, IN, Don (Julie) Decker of Hartford, Ronda (Leon) Geary of Horse Branch and Crystal (Eddie) Johnson of Morgantown and one brother, John Lewis Decker of Beaver Dam. Mal was blessed with ten grandchildren, Anthony (Heather) Geary, Nathan (Tanya) Geary, Justin (Felicia) Geary, Charlie (Samantha) Raley, Darrel Decker, Ashley (Paul) Schroader, Katie (Tyler) Jewell, Don Decker Jr., Sarah Decker and Mackenzie Hoover and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jay Raymond officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Union Cemetery in Butler County. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 P.M. Monday and 9 A.M. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
