Willard "Gene" Gilstrap

Willard “Gene” Gilstrap, 54, of Horse Branch, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Ohio County, Kentucky on February 20, 1962 to Cordie “Beatrice” Arnold Gilstrap and the late Willard Gilstrap. Gene was an over the road truck driver and loved time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Gilstrap; sisters, Martine Wells and Tammy Gilstrap; his grandparents, Dewey and Alma Gilstrap and James and Mary Arnold; his nephew, Daniel Gilstrap and great-nephew, Raydan Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Amanda Gilstrap of Horse Branch; three sons, Christopher (Shamara) Gilstrap of Beaver Dam, Kenneth “KC” Gilstrap of Horse Branch and James Gilstrap of Horse Branch; one daughter, Delores Pierce of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Devon, Diamond, Destiney, Derek, Kambrie, Kaiden and Kiley; his mother, Cordie “Beatrice” Gilstrap of Horse Branch; three brothers, Ray (Pam) Gilstrap of Horse Branch, Leonard (Bobbie) Gilstrap of Hartford, and Robert “Scotty” (Crystal) Gilstrap of Horse Branch; three sisters, Penny (Paul) Denardi of Horse Branch, Sandra Baize of Morgantown, and Lisa Hurt of Horse Branch and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Glendon Geary and Rev. John David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Rosine Cemetery in Rosine, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Gene’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
