Charles Glenn McCormick

November 13, 1936 ~ January 31, 2018 (age 81)


Charles G. McCormick, 81, of Beaver Dam went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was born on November 13, 1936 in the Taylormine Community of Ohio County, Kentucky to the late John and Lillian Chinn McCormick. Charles was a retired Peabody Coal Miner and a member of McHenry Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army.

Aside from his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Wendell McCormick.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mattie Sorrells McCormick of Beaver Dam; four children, Debbie (Ron) McCorkindale of Kettle Falls, Washington, Rickie (Norene) McCormick of Beaver Dam, Scottie (Trish) McCormick of Lewisport  and Cherie (Rodney) Lee of Beaver Dam ; four stepchildren, Donna (Glen) Calhoun of Owensboro, Scott (Tammy) Daugherty of Cottontown, Tennessee, David (Elizabeth) Daugherty of Owings, Maryland, Eric (Robin) Clothier of Whitesville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Wilson of Owensboro and one brother, Gene McCormick of Owensboro.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mr. McCormick’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.  Full Military Honors will be provided by Ohio County Honor Guard.
