Ella V (Johnson) Bailey

Ella V Bailey, 89, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Ohio County Hospital under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. Mrs. Bailey was born in Hardin County, Kentucky on March 4, 1930 to the late Lawrence Johnson and Ora Whitten Johnson. She retired from the Dollar General Store and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sherman Bailey; two grandsons, Brian Thienes and Kody Clark and four sisters, Dulcie Drake, Eva Lawson, Delta Richey, and Evelyn Drake.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, Violet (Lee) Thienes of Beaver Dam, Wayne (Diane) Bailey of Hartford, and Laurie (Barry) Coppage of Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Jamie) Basham, Misty (Michael) Riger, Derek (Tracy) Bailey, Kyle (Danielle) Coppage, Korey Coppage, Eric (Sara) Beauchamp and Melissa (Chad) Julian; nineteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; five siblings,  Elroy (Linda) Johnson of Elizabethtown, C.W. (Jane) Johnson of Louisville, Arnold (Rose) Johnson of Brandenburg, Lorene Sherrad of Vine Grove, Mary Willie Boling of Vine Grove.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Glenn Armstrong and Rev. John Cashion officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Bailey’s family from 4 – 8 PM Friday and 9 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
