Bertha Mae Sheffield, 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born January 12, 1942, in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Ernie Allen and Bessie Duncan Allen. Mrs. Sheffield retired from Ohio County School System where she worked as a secretary at Western Elementary School and was a member of Centertown Baptist Church.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Randall Sheffield.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one son, Mark (Melony) Sheffield of Centertown; two daughters, Kim (Jerry) Vender of Centertown and Edwina Sheffield of Hartford; six grandchildren, Toby Sheffield, Matthew (Christy) Sheffield, Eric (Sara) Vender, Ashley (Garrett) Beasley, Josh Vender and Harley Slack; six great-grandchildren and one brother, David (Kathy) Allen of Centertown.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021, at Lone Star Cemetery in Centertown, Kentucky with Matthew Sheffield officiating. Friends may visit with Mrs. Sheffield’s family from 10 AM until 1 PM Friday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.
