Bessie Singleton, 85 from Centertown, Ky passed away surrounded by family on Nov 23, 2025 at the Heartford House in Owensboro, Ky. Bessie was born on December 10th, 1939 in Arkansas to the late Carl C. and Beulah Givens. Bessie was a member of the Daystar Church of God in Echols, Ky. As a faithful Christian Bessie spent her life serving the Lord. She was also a devoted caregiver for both her children and grandchildren, in which time she shared the love of our Lord Jesus and the importance of his mercy. In addition to her parents Bessie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years; Donald Singleton as well as her step-mother, Mae Phelps Givens, one grandchild; Jacob Renfrow, three brothers; Carl C. Givens Jr., Tony Givens, David Givens, five sisters; Lucille Hershell, Louise Scott, Margie Willoughby, Peggy Kemper, and her twin sister Cassie Hoover. She is survived by her five children; Donna Thompson, Linda Mae Wells, Michael Singleton, Sandra (Wesley) Green, and Misty (Tim) Westerfield, two brothers; Cecil Givens and Johnny Givens, three sisters; Frances Coble, Marilyn Sue Hawthorne, and Joanne Brown. Bessie also leaves behind six grandchildren, Becky (Steven) Baird, Corrie (KP) Raymond, Tyler Green, Andrea (Ted) Redmon, Makayla Singleton, and Daniel Singleton. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Rev. Betty Shaver and Pastor Michael Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
