Betty L. “Granny” Schroader, 86, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky joined her family in heaven on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Norton Healthcare in Louisville. She was born November 16, 1937, in Echols to the late Roland Geary and Pernie Coleman. Granny was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard D. Schroader; two daughters, Terry Lynn Schroader and Janet Schroader, and three siblings, Clarence Arthur Geary, Thomas Ray Geary, and Sally Fosten Geary.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three children, Rondal (Vanessa) Schroader of Hartford, Judy (Victor) Beard of Owensboro, and David (April) Schroader of Beaver Dam; four siblings, Earnest Geary of Louisville, Roland (Lavonne) Geary, Mary Maple of Beaver Dam, and Jo Ann Minton; sixteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her granddaughter Melanie Weldon was her primary caregiver, allowing her to live at home in her final years with her faithful four-legged companion, Gabby Lou.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Jeff Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Granny’s family from 10 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
