Billie Jean Sturgill, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2026 to her heavenly home, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Sturgill was born on September 25, 1931 to James Mack and Ethel Parton, in Bell County, Kentucky.
A life beautifully lived, should be remembered. Billie was a bright light in many people’s lives. She was the ultimate homemaker. Memories of her can often recall family gatherings, open doors, and kindness to everyone. She dedicated her life to blessing her family with a tidy home and filling their bellies with the best home cooked meals. Aside from her caring hospitality, she was an avid animal lover, who treated every animal with kindness, including her long companion and friend, Buttons. With such a deep love for reading, she has read countless books in the warmth of her own rocking chair. The sweetest soul with be missed today and every day, until we meet again in Heaven.
Being earthside for nearly a century, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She has a remarkable milestone of living through 5 generations. She has always said her greatest blessings in life, were her 4 children, Vicki Witt (Gary), Tommie Whitten (Kevin), Scottie Desper (Marty) and Nikki Allen (Shaney), who also gave her a great number of beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, who will miss her so dearly.
She will reunite in Heaven with her Husband, Pat Sturgill…. And many other loved ones.
A private family burial will be held at Pond Run Cemetery, in Echols, Kentucky. William L. Danks Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
