David Keith Coon, 56, of Horse Branch, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 26, 2024, with his family by his side at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born February 19, 1968, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Joseph T. Coon and Shirley Peyton Coon Skelton. Most will know David from Horse Branch General Store or his extraordinary carpenter work. He enjoyed traveling and most of all the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. David was a loving friend to many and did his best to build others up to their potential.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Devin Coon; brother, Kenneth Coon; sister, Gayle Coon; niece, Sarah Coon, aunt and uncle, Edgar and Thelma Wright.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Christina Coon of Horse Branch; 6 children, Abby Coon, Joe Coon, Nick Coon, David (Allison) Coon, Jr all of Evansville, Indiana and Brooklyn Coon of Horse Branch and Alexis (Klayton) Felty of Owensboro; 8 grandchildren, Alex and Madalyn Spencer, Amiyah McFarland, Carter Coon, Colton Martin, Nora Coon and Eden and Micah Felty; brother, Roy (Jennifer) Coon; sister, Kathy Coon (Doug Johnson) of Horse Branch; mother-in-law, Peggy Gaines of Evansville, Indiana and several nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Glendon Geary officiating. Friends may visit with David’s family from 10 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
