Dennis Michael Murphy, 78, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home. He was born March 1, 1947, in Gary, Indiana to the late Alvin Murphy and Julia Bognar Murphy. Dennis retired from Auto Zone and served in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Old Tin Car Club and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose #570. Dennis had a lifelong love for classic cars. He could talk for hours about Plymouths. One of his greatest joys was traveling to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee each year for annual car shows. This was a tradition he and Mary loved to do together with their car club friends. From cruising down the parkway, admiring endless rows of vintage cars to catching up with friends he’d met throughout the years. Those trips were among his favorite memories.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Billy Murphy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Mary Duke; children, Julie (Mike) Bayless, DJ (April) Murphy and Leanne (Jonathon) Beasley; seven grandchildren; siblings, David (Kim) Murphy and Patric (Karen) Murphy as well as the lasting relationships with the members of the car club group.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
