Flora Mae (Murphy) Bratcher

Flora Mae Murphy Bratcher, 66, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born January 17, 1957 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Ethel Murphy and Cordelia Renfrow Murphy. Flora was a homemaker. She enjoyed canning, gardening, and riding in the wagon.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by five siblings, Shanon Murphy, Charlie Louis Murphy, Costella Heflin, David Murphy, and Betty Jo Ferguson.

Flora leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 12 years, Donald Bratcher of Morgantown; two children at heart, Amy (Jason) Bolin, of Rosine and John Schroader of McHenry; two stepchildren, Sue Lawhorn and Charlie Oldham of Grayson County; seven grandchildren; seven siblings, Dale (Patty) Murphy, Jeffrey Murphy, Stephen (Ashley) Murphy, Chris (Shela) Murphy, Richard Murphy, Angie Raley, and Donna Daugherty all of Horse Branch and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Flora’s life will be held at 3 PM Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Leach General Baptist Church in Horse Branch, Kentucky with Bro. Mike Daugherty and Bro. Mike Wilson officiating. Friends may visit with Flora’s family from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church.
