George Pirtle, Sr., 87, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away with his family by his side Friday, April 17, 2026, at his home. He was born Monday, April 25, 1938, in Cromwell, Kentucky to the late Leo Pirtle and Glennie Hudson Pirtle. Mr. Pirtle retired from Dow Chemical Company after thirty-four years of service, was a member of Simplicity Church and was a United States Army Veteran .
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Russell Pirtle.
He leaves behind to his memory, three sons, George Pirtle, Jr of Beaver Dam, Karl Jason (Miriam) Pirtle of Houston, Texas and Gavin Leo (JoBeth) Pirtle of Pledger, Texes; eight grandchildren, Jake, Aleyda, Jason, Rachel, Sara, Karina, Katy and Billy Joe; twenty great grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Park of Owensboro and Judy (Herb) Marynell of Newburgh, Indiana as well as a couple of close friends, Sandra Cole, her daughter, Shannon and Moses.
Mr. Pirtle’s family would like to say a special thanks to Hospice of Ohio County for the care shown to their father as well as the friends he made at Wal-Mart.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Thursday, April 23, 2026, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Paul Ralph officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky with military honors provided by the Ohio County Honorguard. Friends may visit from 10 AM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Clear Run Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4735 State Route 1414, Hartford, KY 42347. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
