James William Hohimer, 95, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born June 26, 1924 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Elijah Hohimer and Myrtle Hounton Hohimer. Mr. Hohimer was a retired custom cabinet maker and enjoyed digging ginseng. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Earline Carroll, Gene Hohimer, Wilba Hohimer and one half-brother, Nokle Roach.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Sandra) Hohimer of Centertown and Eddie (Brenda) Hohimer of Olaton; two daughters, Shirley Griffin of Rosine and Tina (Joe) Lamar of Cromwell; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Huff of Owensboro, Brandon (Lou) Hohimer of Bowling Green, Tiffany Hohimer of Bowling Green, Kyle Hohimer of Olaton and Lynnann (Darin) Green of Beaver Dam and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Kenny Sapp officiating. Burial will follow in Centertown Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mr. Hohimer’s family from 4-8 PM Tuesday and 9AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
