Jerry C. Smith, 80 of Baizetown, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was born on October 21, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Rev. Claud and Morine Embry Smith. Jerry was a graduate of Louisville Male High School and was a lifelong farmer, working over 62 years in the community of Baizetown. He was a faithful and devoted deacon and treasurer for over 50 years at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry was past Master of Cromwell Masonic Lodge #692 F&AM. He had a love for farming, but his greatest passions were serving God, his family and helping his neighbors.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouse and lifelong companion, Kathleen Baize Smith.
He leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, his children, Marian (Alan) Taylor of Echols, Thomas (Amanda) Smith of Baizetown and Robert (Sarah) Smith of Baizetown; three siblings, J.T. (Frankie) Smith, Marvin Smith and Bulena Cardwell all of Baizetown. Jerry was blessed with five grandchildren, Austin (Ashley) Taylor of Myrtle Beach, S.C., T.J. (Rachel) Smith of Evansville, IN, Crystal Taylor of Echols, Merideth Smith of Baizetown and Lily Smith of Baizetown.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, August 2, 2025 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Greg Fields and Bro. Gerald Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Baizetown Cemetery. Friends may visit with Jerry’s family from 9 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
