Kathleen Helen “Nan” Witt, 75, of Hartford, Kentucky went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 6, 1945 in Washington D.C. to the late Paul R. Simmons and Mary F. Thompson Simmons. Mrs. Witt was a homemaker and member of LifePoint Baptist Church in Beaver Dam. She was the First Lady of the Barbarossa Motorcycle Club for several years.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Junior “Moon Dog” Witt, Sr.; two sons, Douglas Junior “Son” Witt, Jr. and David Joseph “Bug” Witt; grandson, Donnie Witt; one brother, Paul Simmons and two sisters Mary Hudson and Gwen Carter.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Debbie (Phil) Dickinson of Hartford; seven grandchildren, Chessa (Daniel) Blacklock, Doug (Jessica) Witt, Joey Witt, Josh Witt, , Destiny Witt, Cassie Moorman and Mikayla Witt; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kaiser Witt, Sonnie David Moon Witt, Daniel “My Man” Blacklock, Peyton Blacklock, Kayla Blacklock, Brooklyn Hedges, R.J. Fuqua, Donnie Witt, Michael Witt, Landon Drury, Lainey Moorman, Kaleb Morris, Hailee Morris and Isaiah Morris; one brother, Eddie Simmons of Maryland and one sister, Gloria Johnson of Maryland and one niece, Irene “Mert” Hudson of Maryland.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Rodney Albin officiating. Friends may visit with Mrs. Witt’s family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
