Lavonna Gale Johnson, 66, of Hartford, Kentucky passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, with her family by her side at Linda E. White Hospice in Evansville, Indiana. She was born Wednesday, March 19, 1958, to the late Joe Eversole, Jr. and Lily Nantz Eversole in Hazard, Kentucky. Gale retired from Walmart after thirty-two years of service and was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed the beach, spending time with her grandchildren and her yorkie, Sadie.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael R. Johnson; first husband, Charles Nugent, Jr. and four siblings, Rodney Eversole, Christi Jo Eversole, Myra Eversole and Twila Gay Eversole.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Christa (Jacob) Luker of Chandler, Indiana; five grandchildren, Joshuah (Jazmin) Jaramillo, Christopher Tindall, Preston (Lexi) Tindall, Joseph Tindall and Erica (Ryan) Tipton; two great grandchildren, Bryleigh and Lily; numerous at heart grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and her best friend of over forty years, Mary Potts.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Friday, February 14, 2025, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Jerry Alexander and Rev. Jeff Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Barnetts Creek Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Friends may visit Gale’s family from 4-8 PM Thursday and 9 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy to take the form of donations to, Hope Lodge, 1500 College Road, Lexington, KY 40502. Checks payable to ACS Lexington, in memory of Gale Johnson.
