Mary Jo (Stanley) Harrison

Mary Jo Stanley Harrison, 89, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 18, 2023, to join her family in heaven.  Mary Jo was born on January 23,1934 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to the late H.B and Grethel Stanley.  Mary Jo was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College.  She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, H.B. Stanley, Inc. for many years.  Mary Jo loved the color purple, she loved to sew and loved to shop. She enjoyed displaying seasonal arrangements that welcomed you to their home. Mary Jo was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Beaver Dam Methodist Church and attended Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  Mary Jo and Charles were happily married for 65 years, they loved spending time at the lake, golfing, and traveling.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Harrison and their daughter, Martha E. Crawford; sister-in-law Pat Stanley; two aunts, Ruth Ellen Stanley and Audra Martin; her in-laws, Leslie and Hallie Harrison; sister-in-law, Claire Jean (Charlie) Downs; brother-in-law, Donald Ray Harrison.

She leaves behind to cherish many memories, her brother Bill Stanley of Beaver Dam; her sister-in-law, Joan (Larry) Harrison Bess and her brother-in-law Leon Harrison both of Grayson County; several nieces and nephews, her beloved caretakers and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Doug King officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with her family from 9 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
