Ricky D. Groves

Ricky D. Groves, 62 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on June 5, 1957 in Greenville, Kentucky to the late Elze and Wilma Phipps Groves. Ricky worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and Green River Coal Company. He was a member of Place of Hope Church in Rockport, Kentucky and was a member of UMWA Local #1793.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Groves and one sister, Carole Steele.

Survivors include his daughter, Misty Groves (Chris) Lindsey of Bloomington, IN; one brother, Bennie Groves of Beaver Dam; one granddaughter, Aubrey Groves; one great grandson, Wyatt Thomas Ploughe and nephews and nieces, Ben (Lindsay) Groves, Samantha (Brandon) Black, Victor (Keshia) Steele and Lisa (Dean) Hope.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2020 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jeff Evans officiating. Friends may visit with his family from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday.
