Roger D. McKinney, 79 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Morgantown, Kentucky to the late Earl and Alta Barrow McKinney. He attended Centertown Tabernacle Church and was a retired heavy equipment operator in the coal mines.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth McKinney and one sister, Diane McKinney.
He leaves behind to cherish many memories, his significant other, Alice Coppage of Dundee; four children, Angela (Eddie) Mudd of Beaver Dam, Roger McKinney, Jr. of Drakesboro, Shelly McKinney (Blake Gorden) of Central City and Brandy (Trenton) Day of Beaver Dam; his son at heart, Cody Coppage of Dundee; two siblings, Phil McKinney and Darlene Ingram. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren, Angel Deweese, Anthony Shane Bishop, Mackenzie McKinney, Rosie McKinney, Ellie Mae McKinney, Maddison McKinney, Amberleigh Carden, Braxton Gardner, Paisley Gorden, Mia Day, Jacob Day and Buckley Day and three great-grandchildren, Braxton, Brianna and Willow.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery in Butler County. Friends may visit with Roger’s family from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
