Ronald Gene Singleton, 70, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away February 9, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by the ones he loved most. He was born in Hartford, Kentucky on February 16, 1955 to Dellie “Jr” Singleton and Doris Iburg Singleton. Ronald was a member of Rockport Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver.
Everyone knew him as Ronnie, some as “Sing” but the name he loved the most was Pappaw. Ronnie’s grandson Hayden and Holden Chapman were the light of his life. Most weeks you would find him on the sidelines of a basketball court or a football field cheering them on. He never missed a game or a chance to make memories with them.
Ronnie was always big on family. He loved spending time with all the aunts, uncles and cousins, whether in Kentucky or Arkansas. When he made friends with someone it was for life. He would do anything for anyone.
Ronnie loved music, going to concerts, watching UK or the Yankees but his biggest passion in life was playing basketball. In his younger years you could find him on the court in Rockport at all hours of the day. His hard work showed on the school court as he held the record at Ohio County High School for free throws and 3-pointers for several years.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his dad, Jr Singleton. Those two had a bond over sports that could never be broken, whether coaching him through the years or yelling at the tv together.
He leaves behind his mother, Doris Singleton of Beaver Dam, daughter Dinah Singleton Chapman of Utica and two grandsons Hayden and Holden Chapman both of Utica.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 15, 2026 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Recie Young officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit with Ronnie’s family from 5-8 P.M. on Saturday and from 9 A.M. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
