Sandra Louise (Maddox) Murfin

Sandra Louise Murfin, 70, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, in Mt. Carmel. She was born Sunday, August 8, 1954, in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Hugh Darrell Maddox and Margaret Butler Maddox. Mrs. Murfin was a retired underground coal miner for Amex Coal.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Maddox.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of thirty-one years, Gary Murfin of Mt. Carmel; daughter, Ashlee Daugherty of St. Francisville, Illinois; two stepsons, Jaycen (Amanda) Murfin of Oakland City, Indiana and Joseph (Jamie) Murfin of Ft. Branch, Indiana; several step grandchildren and one sister, Nancy Casey of Morgantown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, May 8, 2025, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Murfin’s family from 3-7 PM Wednesday and 9 AM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
