Scotty W. McLain, 74, of McHenry, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, with his wife by his side at his residence. He was born February 16, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Wilson and Barbara Dingoes McLain. Scotty was a retired coal miner and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by five siblings, Bobby Joe McLain, David McLain, Debbie McLain, Kyla McLain and Gladys McLain; great granddaughter, Kinsley Daniel and sister-in-law, Brenda McLain.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-nine years, Mary McLain of McHenry; three children, Tina McLain of Centertown, Brian (Elizabeth) McLain of Owensboro and John (Christi) McLain of Olaton; seven siblings, Donnie McLain of Virginia, Gary (Mossie) McLain of Harlan, Earl McLain of Lexington, Shirley McLain of Georgia, Judy McLain of Corbin, Jean McLain of Utah and Rhonda McLain of North Carolina; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, July 25, 2025, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit with Scotty’s family from 10 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
