Shannon Elaine (Stewart) Embry

Shannon Elaine (Stewart) Embry, 51, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Heartford House with her family at bedside. She was born in Hartford, Kentucky on May, 29, 1974, to Cova Alvina Stewart and the late Elmer C Stewart.

Shannon was a burst of enthusiasm to be around, always the jokester and making people smile. Never meeting a stranger, and stayed kind to everyone, #1 fan to “Little house on the prairie” (only season 1 though.) But she loved her grandchildren most of all and showed them the true heart of being a “Nana”.

Aside from her father, Shannon was preceded in death by a nephew, Jacob Walker Stewart.

Shannon was daughter to Cova Alvina Stewart,  mother, to Lacey (Curtis) Payne of Owensboro, Douglas “Blake” Embry of Caneyville, and James “Trent” (Sky-Ann) Embry, of Horse Branch;  Sister, to Cletus E. Stewart of Horse Branch, Tracy (Tracey) Renfrow, of Hartford, and James A. Stewart of Owensboro; grandmother, to Jacey and Silas Lindsey, Peyton Willis; aunt, to several nieces, and nephews as well as several great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 9 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
