Susan (Taylor) Hines

Susan Taylor Hines, 69 of Centertown, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Ohio County Hospital under the care of Hospice of Ohio County, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 3, 1949 in Greenville, Kentucky to the late Ishmel E. and Imogene Coleman Taylor. She was a dedicated member of Centertown Baptist Church, where she loved teaching children’s church and vacation bible school. Susan was also a retired teacher from the Ohio County Board of Education where she taught for 37 years at many schools including Pleasant Ridge, McHenry, Centertown and Western, and continued substitute teaching well after her retirement.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Taylor and Ishmel Taylor Jr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 49 years, Charles “Bubby” Hines of Centertown; four children, Christa (Matt) Mattingly of Owensboro, Shannon Hines of Owensboro, Joel Hines of Seattle, Washington and Jordan (Erin Ruhl) Hines of Lexington; one brother, Anthony (Laura) Taylor of Owensboro and three sisters, Iva Jean (Jan) Embry of Athens, Tennessee, Cheryl (Jonny) Shrewsbury of Beaver Dam and Lawana Nauman of Beaver Dam. Susan was blessed with four grandchildren, Logan Kuegel, Jenna Kuegel, Gracelyn Hines and Otis Hines and her beloved pet, Boo.

Memorial Services will he held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Centertown Baptist Church in Centertown with Rev. Scott Fleener officiating. Friends may visit with Susan’s family from 12 P.M. until the time of service Saturday at the church. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Hines.
