William G. “Grit” Gillim, 88, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab. He was born November 27, 1932 in Rosine to the late Erville and Edith Galloway Gillim. He retired from Montpelier Glove Factory and attended Seventh Day Adventist Church in Central City.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Corum and four brothers, Russell, Ray, Eddie and Carlin Gillim.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Gillim of Beaver Dam; four children, Tommy (Cheryl) Slusher of Louisville, David (Denise) Slusher of Louisville, Mary (Russell) Phillips of Louisville and Robyn (Mark) Cannon of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Michelle, Misty, Terry, Jr., Jason, Amy and Robert; nineteen great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and one brother, Glendon (Janet) and five sisters, Remona, Mary Sue, Donitta, Judy and Linda.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Rosine Cemetery in Rosine. Friends may visit with Grit’s family 3-7 PM Monday and 9 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
