Zachary “Zach” Stephen Mattingly, 35, of Horse Branch, Kentucky passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born November 28, 1986 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Mark Mattingly and Starr Hafford Mattingly. Zachary was the safety coordinator for Green River Distilling in Owensboro, a CPR instructor, and a member of Rosine Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Rimby, going to Lindsey Stirling concerts, hockey, golf, hunting, collecting comic books with the Joker being his favorite and trains. He loved his family, and his special smile and huge heart will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 7 years, Kim Bates Mattingly; Granny Grace and Grandpa Robert Wedding and Grandpa Keith Finch.
Zachary leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Starr and Mark Mattingly of Leitchfield; grandparents, Mary and Joe Hafford of Leitchfield; brothers, Austin Mattingly of Owensboro, Caleb Mattingly, Chase Mattingly and Tyler Mattingly all of Leitchfield; sisters, MaryBeth Mattingly and Lydia (Travis) Duncan all of Leitchfield; nephew, Jackson Smith; nieces, Riley Mattingly and Alice Willow Duncan; several great aunts, uncles and cousins and his dog, Rimby.
A celebration of life will be held 4PM Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky with Dr. James Wedding officiating. Friends may visit with Zachary’s family from 3 PM until the time of that service at the church. William L. Danks Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
