My heart aches for the Duke family to lose in death your precious loved one Mr. Hugh Eddie. Words are so limited that can give comfort, so I would like to share with you beautiful scripture where our heavenly Father, Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18), invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Psalm 34:18
None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection.
Our savior, Jesus, said: John 6: 40; "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day".
Jesus also said: John 5: 28; "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."
John 11:23-25; "Jesus said to her: "I am the resurrection and the life." The one who exercises faith in me, even tho he dies, will come to life."
I pray that Jesus's promise to reunite us with our loved ones on resurrection day will carry you through the difficult days ahead and gradually replace your tears of grief with tears of joy as you reflect on your precious memories of happier times with Mr. Hugh Eddie. The family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. Feel free to me at my email address: myranj@centurytel.net
I pray it will bring you comfort to please watch this faith strengthening video: "Can The Dead Really Live Again?" https://vimeo.com/232445509

I was so glad I had a chance to see Hugh Eddie before I moved to AZ. We had a great conversation about past times, especially about Dundee and his parents. We shared a lot of stories and laughs. We have been friends for 50 plus years and it really breaks my heart when friends pass away.
Please know that my family will remember your family in thought and prayer. Love to Ann, Eddie, Carey, Pat and families. You are precious friends.
Much love,
Janet Magan

I am so sorry to read of the passing of your Father. You & I are, actually cousins. My Father was William V. Sproule, a son of Floy Dee DUKE Sproule. She was a sister of your Great-Grandfather, Edgar Franklin Duke. When I was a child, we went to Hartford for a Masonic function and stayed with your Grandparents. If you ever heard a story of your Grandfather swallowing gasoline, that occurred on that weekend. Your Father was a 'Knight in shining armor' saving me and your cousin, Oscar Westerfield, when we ran out of gas. My condolences and prayers are with you.

Mr. Duke was a part of my Sons and my Wife's funeral at Dank's Funeral Home. He always went out of his way to see too our needs. He never forgot your name , even when you went back for another person's funeral. Most of all I will miss his genuine smile. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
