COVID-19 Information

As you know, these are some very trying times here in Kentucky and throughout the entire world. We are facing issues that most of us have never faced before in our lifetime. With that being said, in the interest of public health and safety, and under advisement of Governor Andy Beshear’s statement made on March 16, 2020, we will arrange for all funeral services, visitations and memorial services to be open for immediate family ONLY until further notice. This policy will take effect Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 3:00 P.M., until we are advised otherwise.

The health and safety of our valued community has always been our highest priority. We are taking every precaution to accommodate the families that we serve regarding their wishes to honor their loved one, while taking all steps to assure the health and safety of the community that we call home.

Those steps include but are not limited to:

  • Funeral services and visitations limited to private family gatherings less than 10 people.
  • Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines
  • Implementing local and state recommendations in dealing with the Coronavirus COVID-19
  • Reinforcing the necessary steps to ensure a clean environment in our facility
  • Closing our lounge area and restricting food/beverage products from being brought in
  • Asking that adults over 60 or those experiencing health problems not to attend
  • Posted reminders regarding physical contact among visitors and family
  • Asking that people refrain from hugging, kissing, hand shaking, etc. by using social distancing (6-foot perimeter)
  • Hand sanitizer is provided at various locations in our building
  • Continued adherence to our existing internal universal precaution protocols
  • Our staff at William L. Danks Funeral Home are keeping up with the latest updates from the CDC and state government to ensure we’re acting on the latest guidance and information.

For your convenience we offer the following so that you may still pay your respects to a loved one and their family while keeping our community as safe and healthy as possible.

Our website (www.danksfuneralhome.com) online register page and sympathy store

Honoring telephone requests for names to be added to the physical register book

Option to stream services on facebook live (by family request only)
