Jimmy David Hopkins, 67, of Hartford, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born August 14, 1949 in Murray, Kentucky to Newell and Gracie Crass Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was employed by Chuck Hoke Mines and PHI. He was a member of VFW Post 5766, American Legion and was of the Christian Faith. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Herman and Natoma Raymond; Grandparents Bonnie D. and Delcie Crass and Carl and Eve Hopkins.

Survivors include his wife, Renita Hopkins of Hartford; daughters, Tracy Michelle (Phillip) Dye of Horse Branch, Amy Jo (Chris) Huff of Horse Branch, Tara Rae Dockery of Beaver Dam and Erica Lynn (Jeremy) Taylor of Rosine; and two brothers, Wayne (Cynthia) Hopkins of Paducah and Roger (Leisa) Hopkins of Murray. Jimmy was blessed with nine grandchildren, Tyler Dye, Hunter Dye, Taylor Dye, Chevy Dockery, Alyssa Reeves, Hannah Rummage and Jayme, Jack & Emalee Huff and three great-grandchildren, Lawson Dye and Lydia & Logan Reeves.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating and Military Honors provided by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Jimmy’s family from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
